The Bulls, 29-15 (11-7), won 3 to 2 over Memphis, taking the series and adding another key win to the resume. This was a solid comeback victory for the Bulls.

In the first, the Tigers went up 1 to 0 (reports are half the team was dealing with some kind of food poisoning so that is not good). In the 6th, Garrett Zech reached on an error, allowing JD Dukta to score, tying the game up at 1 to 1. Coco Montes then drove in two more runs on a base hit, giving USF a 3 to 1 lead late. The Tigers added a run in the 8th, but the USF bullpen shut it down to end the game.

Montes was 2 for 5 with the two big RBIs. Stunkel was 2 for 3 with a walk. Kyle Phillips was 4 for 4 with a run scored to cap off the day at the plate for the Bulls.

Collin Sullivan (3-0) went 5.2 innings, allowing 2 hits, 1 run, walking 2, and striking out 5 batters in a solid start. Noah Yager went 1.2 innings, allowing 1 hit, 1 run, and struck out 3 batters. Alec Wisely worked two thirds, allowing 1 hit and struck out one. Andrew Perez (S9) shut it down, striking out 2 batters in the 9th to secure the victory the good guys.

USF will hit the road next Tuesday night at Florida (game begins at 6 PM). This was a key win for the AAC standings, but let’s see what happens when they face the top team in the country in Gainesville.

Now time for the team to enjoy the week off (finals!).
