USF football: Break out players in 2018: Kevin Bronson

Another player to watch out this year is senior defensive tackle Kevin Bronson who should be one of the leaders up front in 2018.

The senior defensive tackle (6’4″ 282 lbs.) Kevin Bronson could be set for a huge year. Last year, he appeared in 10 games for the Bulls as a key reserve totaling 10 tackles with 2.5 TFL. Bronson played a solid roll last year as a key reserve, but he could be ready for even more of a roll this season.

Last year Bronson was the back-up to Bruce Hector and Deadrin Senat, but with both of those players gone (and headed to the NFL), Bronson is now in a prime spot to winning a starting job and take over as a veteran up front. The Bulls front seven will need the veterans to lead the way and show the younger defensive linemen how it is done and Bronson will be one of those teachers in 2018.

We have seen over the past few years Bronson is a good defensive tackle, playing both the run and getting into the backfield well. Now he will have his chance in a starting roll and I would expect a lot more tackles out of talented down in the trenches this year. The defense will be relying on it.
