The Bulls, 35-10 (10-6), had to rally and battle, but they won 8 to 6 over ECU to open up this key 3-game series (last home series). It was a crazy game but the Bulls got it done.

USF was down 3 to 0 early in the game, but they came back. In the bottom of the 3rd, the Bulls made it 3 to 2 and then went ahead 5 to 3 in the 4th. In the 5th, ECU tied it up, but USF was able to get the lead back in the 7th thanks to an RBI single from Duke Stunkel and another RBI single and then a 2-run single from Tyler Dietrich to make it 8 to 5 in the game. ECU make it 8 to 6 in the 8th, but that would be it for the Pirates in this game.

Tyler Dietrich went 3 for 4 with 3 RBIs while Andres Leal went 2 for 4 with an RBI and scored 2 runs. Coco Montes, batting at the bottom of the order, going 2 for 4 with an RBI. It should be noted that nearly all of the offense in this game for USF came from the bottom of the order which is awesome and shows this team can get it done no matter where in the order.

Phoenix Sanders (ND) went 5 innings, allowing 8 hits, 5 runs, walking 1 and striking out 5. Andrew Perez (5-2) went 2 innings, allowing a run, 3 walks and struck out 2. Joe Cavallaro (S 4) went 2 innings, allowing 3 hits, 1 walk and struck out 2.

The Bulls will take on ECU in game two on Saturday at 6:30 PM.
