The Bulls, 29-21 (8-6), are taking a quick late season break from conference play as they host FGCU for a double header (game one at 5 PM and game two at 7:15). FGCU is 22-24 (2-6 away) entering this in-state battle.

USF is batting .256 as a team entering this game with a 2.57 staff ERA. FGCU is batting .265 as a team entering these games with a staff ERA at 3.01 so I would not expect a ton of runs between two similar teams that rely on speed to do their damage on the scoreboard.

Here are the key FGCU players to watch in this game:

Kelsey Huff – Junior – OF – Batting .400 on the year with 6 triples, 3 doubles, 18 RBIs with 31 runs scored and is 23 for 26 in steal attempts.

Natalie Lopez – Junior – OF – Batting .353 on the year with a double, 3 RBIs, has scored 23 runs and is 18 for 18 in steal attempts.

Racquel Fournet – Sophomore – 1B – Fournet is batting .323 with 14 doubles, 4 home runs, 37 RBIs, and has scored 25 runs.

Riley Randolph – Sophomore – LHP – Randolph is 12-8 on the year (2.42 ERA) and has thrown 141.2 innings, allowing 140 hits, 59 runs, 35 walks, and has struck out 129 batters on the year (.259 average against her).

Taylor Wade – Junior – RHP – Wade is 8-11 (2.85 ERA) on the year while throwing 120.1 innings, allowing 137 hits, 75 runs, walking 34 and has struck out 58 (.279 average against her).

The Bulls will be ready for this double header and have shown despite the tough season, they can still contend with anyone. Kristen Wyckoff will lead the way, batting .423 on the year and is 15 for 16 in steal attempts. Look for her to step the table for these two games and get the offense going as the Bulls try to go for the sweep.
