The Bulls, 32-9 (7-5), fell 6 to 0 to Stetson in a mid-week battle against their in-state foe. The offense, without Kevin Merrell again, could not get going in this tough loss.

Stetson rolled in this game 6 to 0 as the Bulls had nothing going. With no Kevin Merrell again (some minor injury), Andres Leal went 2 for 4 along with Garrett Zech going 2 for 4. The team together had just 7 hits and struck out 15 times. Yeah, that is not good at all and there really isn’t anything great to report after this game.

DJ Roberts went 4 innings, allowing 4 hits and walked one batter. Collin Sullivan (0-1) went 2 innings in relief, allowing 2 hits, 2 runs, walking 2 and striking out 2 more. Noah Yager went 1.2 innings, allowing 5 hits, 3 runs, and struck out 3 batters. Carson Ragsdale went 1.1 inning, allowing a hit, a walk, and struck out 4 batters. It was not a solid night for the bullpen (after I praised them in the morning post), but the key arms did not go in this game, being held back for the huge weekend with Houston coming to town.

The Bulls will host Houston for a 3-game series beginning on Friday night at 6:30 PM as they prepare for a huge series. Houston sits in first, USF sits in third place, so it’s time to get it done for the Bulls if they want to get to the top of the AAC standings.
