Kristen Wyckoff was 4 for 6 with 4 steals in the double header split for the Bulls.

The Bulls, 10-6, beat Georgia State 1 to 0 in the first game of the double header, before falling to Syracuse 2 to 1 to the Orange in the first day of the Under Armour Invitational Tournament.

In the first game against Georgia State, the Bulls won 1 to 0 and had to wait until the 7th inning to get it done. Kristen Wyckoff got on base, stole 2nd and then third, before scoring on an RBI single from AnaMarie Bruni to win the game. Wyckoff was 2 for 3 with the lone run and stole 3 bases overall in the game. Bruni was 1 for 4 with the only RBI.

The Bulls were 5 for 24 as a team with 7 runners left on base. Cheyenne Eggens (4-1) went all 7 innings, allowing 6 hits and struck out batters in a dominating effort in the circle.

In the second game against Syracuse, the Bulls fell 2 to 1 as the offense struggled again to get going. The Orange went ahead 2 to 0 in the 6th inning. USF would get a run across after Lindsey Devitt reached on an error, allowing Kelsey Lay to score, but that would be it for the offense. The unit was 7 for 28 at the plate and left 9 runners on base. Wyckoff was 2 for 3 with a steal. Kassandra Moeller was 2 for 3 in the game.

Hannah Parker (2-1) went 7 innings, allowing 3 hits, 2 runs, walking 3 and struck out 6 batters.

The Bulls will face Ball State (3 PM) followed by Towson (5:15 PM) over in Clearwater for day two of the tournament. Let’s see what can the Bulls do across the bay tomorrow.
