The Bulls, 7-20 (1-15), fell 68 to 82 to Tulsa. USF battled in this game, starting off slow, but battling back only to see Tulsa take the game away late. We can all agree this season can’t end soon enough.
In the first half the Bulls were down 34 to 39 after starting the game down 1 to 15. It was a bad start, but they were able to get back into this game. USF shot 43% for the first half (39% for Tulsa) and were down 17 to 23 in the rebounding battle. Geno Thorpe led the way with 13 points as the Bulls at least made it a game on the road.
In the second half, the Bulls would get close, only to see Tulsa to walk away late with the game. USF shot 43% for the game, but were down 12 to 16 in free throw attempts compared to a 24 to 42 mark for the Golden Hurricanes. USF lost the rebounding battle at 33 to 43 and had 15 turnovers in the game. Yeah, it was not good at all despite battling back for a short time.
Thorpe had 24 points, 5 assists, and 5 steals to lead the Bulls. Troy Holston had 8 points (2 for 9 for 3-point range), 3 rebounds, and 4 assists while Ruben Guerrero had 7 points and 3 rebounds. Tulio Da Silva had 10 points and 4 rebounds while Malik Fitts had 9 points and 7 rebounds.
Pat Birt had 16 points and 3 rebounds to lead Tulsa.
USF will host Central Florida next Thursday (game begins at 7 PM). Just two games left folks.
