Sigh, here we go again. USF, 7-19 (1-14), are on the road as they take on Tulsa on Thursday night (game begins at 8 PM). The Golden Hurricanes are 12-14 (6-8) on the year and have lost 6 games in a row entering this game. Tulsa beat USF 79 to 67 back on January 21st.
Here are some stats on Tulsa. The Golden Hurricanes are averaging 66.8 PPG while allowing 69.3 PPG. These are some of their key players to watch, if you are watching this game (why are any of us still doing this?).
Junior Etou – 6’7″ 240 lbs. – Redshirt junior – Forward – 12.6 PPG (35 for 82 from 3-point range), 7 RPG, with 14 steals. He had 11 points and 6 rebounds in the first game.
Sterling Taplin – 6’1″ 180 lbs. – Sophomore – Guard – 9 PPG (21 for 54 from 3-point range), 3.1 RPG, 91 assists (65 turnovers), and has 28 steals. He had 10 points and 6 rebounds in the first meeting.
Pat Birt – 6’5″ 182 lbs. – Senior – Guard – 8.8 PPG (40 for 134 from 3-point range), 2.8 RPG with 30 steals. He had 15 points and 2 steals in the first meeting.
In the first meeting, Troy Holston led the way with 16 points and was 5 for 16 from 3-point range (was not afraid to launch it) while Ruben Guerrero had 16 points and 10 rebounds. They were the lone bright spots for the Bulls in the first meeting.
Well, here we go, one of the last regular season games (two more left after this), I pray for a win, but at this stage, I just hope everyone returns home safe, no injuries, and everyone enjoys their stay in Tulsa. At least we are getting one step closer to the end of this nightmare of a season.
