The Bulls, 20-6 (9-4), have lost 2 in a row as they hit the road late in the year. They will be facing Houston on Tuesday night (game begins at 8 PM) who enters the game at 10-16 (3-10). The Bulls must win this game, no questions about it.
USF is averaging 71.7 PPG while allowing 59.6 PPG. The Cougars are averaging 61.1 PPG while allowing 67.7 PPG. Again, USF needs this game big time.
Leading Houston is freshman guard Jasmyne Harris (5’8″) who is averaging 11.2 PPG (42 for 123 from 3-point range), 5.4 RPG, with 37 steals and 10 blocks on the year. Freshman guard Angela Harris (5’6″) is averaging 9.9 PPG (43 for 145 from 3-point range), 2.3 RPG with 48 steals. She will have to be a person too watch on both ends of the court. Senior guard Kierra Graves (5’7″) is averaging 7 PPG, 7.6 RPG with 30 steals and 8 blocks on the year. The Bulls will have to be careful against the Cougars are pretty good at forcing turnovers despite their overall record.
USF has lost two games in a two, is battling a ton of injuries, and now has to hit the road in a must win game (I’m calling it). USF wants to get into the tournament and the resume is solid, but 0-3 against top 25 teams is not good and entering the tournament on a losing record is not the best way to handle things. Right now, the Bulls are probably a low seed and won’t host a game. If they keep losing, they could play their way out of the tournament.
We must win this game.
