Joe Genord accounted for the only USF run in this game.

The Bulls, 24-32, fell 9 to 1 to Uconn in the second game of the AAC tournament. USF had no answer to stop the Huskies offense. They will now have a do or die game tomorrow afternoon to keep the season alive.

In the 2nd, the Bulls were down 1 to 0 to begin the game. In the bottom of that inning, Joe Genord hit a solo home run to tie the game at 1 to 1. In the 5th, Uconn made it 4 to 1 as they got to Eveld and took the lead once again. In the 6th, they made it 7 to 1 as their offense continued to pour it on. In the 8th, Uconn made it 8 to 1. In the 9th, Uconn made it 9 to 1 as they dominated this game from the middle on. USF just had no answer on offense in this game.

Cameron Montgomery was 1 for 3 in the game. Joe Genord was 1 for 4 overall with that solo home run. Garrett Zech was 1 for 3 overall. The Bulls just had zero answers on offense in this game.

Tommy Eveld went 4 innings, allowing 6 hits, 3 runs, 5 walks and struck out 3 batters in the spot start for the Bulls. Joe Cavallaro went 3 innings, allowing 5 hits, 4 runs, 2 walks and struck out 2 batters. Andrew Perez went 1 inning, allowing 3 hits, 1 run and struck out 1 batter. Brad Labozzetta went an inning, allowing 3 hits and a run. The staff just could not slow down the Huskies as they continue to roll (I think they have won 11 in a row now).

Welp, USF will have Memphis tomorrow as they try to keep the season alive. I’ll have a brief preview ready tomorrow morning. Just remember, it’s not over until its over.
