Marquez Valdes-Scantling transferred to the Bulls last year out of NC State and had to sit out for the 2015 season. Now, ready to go in 2016, Marquez has already showed the signs of becoming a monster for the passing game. Fans should be really excited about this young man.
#83 Marquez Valdes-Scantling – 6’3″ 203 lbs. – Junior – Wide receiver – St. Petersburg, FL (Lakewood HS) (NC State)
2015: Marquez had to sit out last year after transferring in.
Recruiting history: Valdes-Scantling was a 3-star recruit (per Rivals) in 2013 and went to NC State after getting offers from USF, Louisville, Kentucky, and Cincinnati, among others. In his two years at NC State, he had 44 receptions for 538 yards. In his final high school season he had 50 receptions for 800 yards and 14 touchdowns.
2016 Projection: Marquez is ready to play and from all accounts from the spring practices, he is going to be a monster down the field. He earned the starting position at the X-receiver and showed the ability to be a home run threat down the field. He is a big body that can get down the field and has speed to match it, making him a handful to deal with down the field for any secondary. He, along with Rodney Adams and the loaded wide receivers unit could make for an exciting 2016 season on offense. I expect a big year from Marquez.
