The Bulls, 39-10 (11-1), won 7 to 0 over the Memphis Tigers, completing the weekend conference sweep. The offense came on late to help support Susan Wysocki in a solid start in the circle.
In the 4th, the Bulls got going starting with an Astin Donovan RBI single followed by a Kenya Yancy RBI single to go up 2 to 0. Lee Ann Spivey then scored on a Cassidy Boyle ground out followed by a Monica Santos RBI single to help the Bulls lead 4 to 0. In the top of the 7th, Juli Weber hit an RBI double to make it 5 to 0. Lee Ann Spivey then followed up with an RBI double followed by an Amber Atkinson RBI single to extend the lead to 7 to 0. The offense took a little bit to get going but came on strong late to help secure the victory.
Kristen Wyckoff was 1 for 4 overall with a run scored. Juli Weber was 2 for 4 overall with the RBI and scored 2 runs. Lauren Evans was 2 for 4. Lee Ann Spivey was 1 for 2 overall with the RBI and drew 2 walks. Amber Atkinson was 2 for 2 with an RBI and scored a run. The offense continues to produce from top to bottom in the order.
Susan Wysocki (11-3) went 5.2 innings, allowing 3 hits, 2 walks, and struck out 2 batters. Cheyenne Eggens went 1.1 innings in solid relief to help close out the game.
The Bulls will hit the road for a game at Florida on Wednesday night (game begins at 6 PM) as they step out of conference play for an evening. It will be a tough battle for the mid-week game at Florida, but the team has been tested for a while now and should be ready for this one.
