The Bulls, 14-11, are on the road as they take on Cincinnati (Friday at 6 PM, Saturday at 6 PM, and Sunday at noon) to get conference play. The Bearcats are 12-12 on the year but are 10-0 at home so this is going to be tough. USF did sweep them last year in three games and beat them by a combined score of 27 to 12.  (more…)

Per Joey Knight and multiple reports – Sophomore guard Roddy Peters was dismissed by Coach Orlando Antigua tonight. There was no reason given in the release.

Peters, after sitting out last year after transferring in from Maryland, played in 10 games this year (8 starts). He missed the remaining 23 games due to a foot fracture that ended his season. In his brief time, he averaged 9.8 PPG and 3.5 APG. After he was sidelined, Jahmal McMurray took over and became a rising star.

Is it the end of the world that Peters is leaving, not really if you are asking me. However, with McMurray exploring his NBA options, it does take away from our depth at point guard. And if McMurray left, it would really hurt the team moving forward with experience at the point. With that said, I wish Roddy the best and the program will move on.

Update, per Knight, the reason for the dismissal was repeated violations of program policy.

The Bulls found a full time starter last year in Quinton Flowers and the offense took off with him running and throwing. This year, he returns as the starter, but there is a lot of competition for the position that could make things a little more interesting. (more…)

The Bulls, 14-11, are set to host Stetson (game begins at 6:30 PM) in an important game before conference play begins this weekend. The Hatters are 12-13 on the season and lost 3 to 2 back on March 15th back in Deland. The Hatters have lost 4 straight coming into this game (one to Dartmouth, 3 to Coastal Carolina) by a combined scored of 50 to 10 over that stretch.  (more…)

The season is over for our Bulls and it was another great one after making it to the round of 32 in the NCAA tournament, their 3rd tournament in the past four years. It was a memorable season but there will be a lot of change heading into next season. Here is a break down of how everything went this season and how next season could look early on. Let’s go.  (more…)

This is going to be one of the more interesting battles in this ultimate team creation. USF has had a lot of great corners over the years from Anthony Henry, to Mike Jenkins, to Kayvon Webster, and more along the way. The top 4 will make the ultimate team depth chart that is quickly coming together and its already looking great. So vote away! (more…)

I’ll keep it fairly simply. The Bull Rush Blog is back. This is where my USF material belongs, its home, and after careful thought, I’m reviving it. I’ve jumped around a lot, but this is where I should have kept my USF blogs in the first place. Sorry for moving around so much. Hope you will continue to follow along. Stay tuned for more USF coverage starting this later today.
