The Bulls, 3-9, fell 79 to 68 to UAB in another loss at home. USF shot well overall from the field and won the rebounding battle overall, but the turnovers hurt them down the stretch as the Bulls continue to struggle.

USF was down 44 to 34 at the half. USF shot 49% from the field (UAB shot 54%). The Bulls won the rebounding battle at 18 to 13, but were down 8 to 4 in turnovers. USF also had just 4 assists in the first half compared to 13 for the Blazers as they moved the ball with a lot more efficiency. For the second half, USF shot 49% compared to 51% for UAB (6 for 17 from 3-point range for the Bulls). USF won the rebounding battle 36 to 26 overall but the Bulls did commit 19 turnovers compared to 8 for UAB. The sloppy play ended their chances in this game as the team struggled to move the ball in this game.

Angel Nunez led the way with 18 points and 9 rebounds. Chris Perry had 11 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 blocks. Jahmal McMurray had 14 points (2 for 8 shooting from 3-point range) and just 2 assists (USF just couldn’t get the ball moving in this game). Nehemias Morillo had 7 points, 2 rebounds, and 3 assists. Jaleel Cousins had no points in the game with 4 fouls, but did have 2 rebounds and 2 blocks (it was a rough night for him). Ruben Guerrero posted his first double-double of his career with 12 points, 10 rebounds, and added 2 steals. Bo Zeigler had 4 points and 4 rebounds as a reserve.

The Bulls will next head to Seton Hall on Tuesday (game begins at 6:30 PM) for their next contest. It’s going to be a long season folks, so get ready and strap in for it. It’s another building year, so get ready for these pains.
