It’s time to meet the WKU coaching staff. These are the coaches that took over after Coach Taggart left. They have changed the culture since taking over and have made WKU a great team. Let’s meet the staff.
Head Coach Jeff Brohm – Brohm took over full time as the head coach after working as the offensive coordinator in 2013. Prior to taking over at WKU, he was the offensive coordinator at Tulane in 2010 and worked at Illinois from 2010 to 2011. He also worked at FAU and Louisville back in 2007. Brohm has changed the WKU offense from the heavy running style to a spread offense that throws the ball everywhere. His team scores a lot of points, runs fast, and will be ready for this game against their former coach.
Defensive coordinator/Assistant head coach Nick Holt – Holt took over in 2013 and uses multiple looks with his defensive unit. He was on the Arkansas staff in 2012 and was the defensive coordinator at Washington from 2009 to 2011 and held the same title from 2006 to 2008 at USC. He is a very experienced coach that has been at some big programs and has coached a unit that has to face the tempo of the WKU offense in practice. They will be prepared for the Bulls and their tempo the team will be running in this game.
Offensive coordinator Tyson Helton – Helton took over as the coordinator in 2014 after working on the Cincinnati staff in 2013 as their tight end/special teams coach. Before that he was on the UAB staff from 2007 to 2012. Helton, along with Brohm, run the spread offense that relies heavy on the passing game with Brandon Doughty throwing the ball over the place. He will call for tempo and will challenge the USF secondary from the very start in this game.
