The Bulls, 10-20 (7-11), are on the road in these final two road games, starting with SMU (game begins at 3 PM). The Mustangs are 26-4 (16-2) and 13-1 at home and have clinched the regular season AAC title. They beat USF in four sets back on October 18th in Tampa.

USF has a hitting percentage of .196 on the year while opponents are hitting .225 against them. SMU is hitting .224 while opponents are hitting .152 against them on the season. The Mustangs are simply a great team.

SMU is led by senior outside hitter Abby Bybel (6’1″) who leads the Mustangs with 320 kills (2.96 kills per set), 14 service aces (20 errors) and has 289 digs. She had 15 kills and 5 digs in the first match. Junior middle blocker Jandle Giordano (6′) has 275 kills, 8 service aces (85 errors), 76 digs, and 175 total blocks on the year. She had 9 kills and 4 digs in the first meeting. Junior libero Morgan Hiese (5’6″) has 72 assists, 19 service aces (12 errors), and a team leading 658 digs (6.09 digs per set) on the season. She had 7 assists and 29 digs in the first game. Rounding out their top contributors is senior setter Avery Acker (5’9″) who has 1341 assists (13.41 assists per set), 11 service aces (20 errors), 316 digs, and 60 total blocks. She had 48 assists and 17 digs in the first match. The offense runs through her for the Mustangs.

This is going to be a tough team against a great team in SMU. Dakota Hampton, who leads the Bulls with 319 kills and 323 digs is the center of the USF offense, but while she leads the way, she needs support. Denise Belcher who has 226 kills (.197 hitting percentage) and others all have to raise their game like they did against Memphis on Sunday and try to rally to pull off the big upset victory. It won’t be easy but the ladies will give it their all in the game.
