The Central Florida staff has gone through a lot this year after George O’Leary resigned, leaving the team in the hands of interim head coach Danny Barrett.
Interim Head Coach/Quarterbacks coach Danny Barrett – Barrett is in his 5th year at C. Florida, his first as the quarterbacks coach and now as the interim head coach. Before he took over in Orlando, Barrett was on the Bethune Cookman staff as their running backs coach and was part of the Buffalo staff from 2007 to 2009. Before that, he worked in the CFL for various teams. Barrett has taken over a tough situation and has done all he can to weather the storm.
Offensive coordinator/running backs coach Brent Key – Key is in his 11th year at C. Florida but just his first as their offensive coordinator. He has been his entire career in Orlando, starting as a grad assistant back in 2005 and working his way up in the staff. He will use a spread offense that has dealt with numerous injuries throughout the year and has yet to find sustained success through the season.
Defensive coordinator/Linebackers coach Chuck Bresnahan – Bresnahan doesn’t need an introduction for the USF faithful after his one season in Tampa (he wasn’t good). He calls a 4-3 defense that plays a lot of zone and works to prevent the big plays, but as we all saw last year and this year, his unit gives up a ton of yards and throughout this season, a lot of points along with it.
