The Bulls, 0-3, fell 73 to 67 to George Washington as the bad start to the season continues. USF got close, but turnovers and bad shooting killed them again in this game.

USF was down just 33 to 30 at the half, but in the second half the turnovers and the bad 3-point shooting continued. USF shot 35% for the game (41% for GW) but they were just 6 for 22 from 3-point range. Seriously, too many threes again. The Bulls did hold the rebounding edge at 49 to 37, but they also committed 16 turnovers. It was just sloppy at times, which has been the MO for this team through the first three games.

Jaleel Cousins had 9 points and 11 rebounds. Chris Perry had 11 points and 9 rebounds. Nehemias Morillo had 5 points, 3 rebounds, and 4 assists as his slow start on offense continues. Roddy Peters had 12 points, just 1 assist (4 turnovers), 3 rebounds and 2 steals before he fouled out late in the game. Ruben Guerrero had 4 points and 5 rebounds off the bench and Bo Ziegler had 4 points and 3 rebounds as well. Angel Nunez had 3 points (1 for 5 from 3-point range) and had 6 rebounds. Jahmal McMurray had 17 points and 3 rebounds, but was just 3 for 9 from 3-point range.

This was just another tough game for this Bulls as they continue to come close, only to fall apart late. I keep harping on it, but the turnovers and number of three point shots they are putting up and not hitting are killing them. Coach Antigua has his work cut out for him as they Bulls take on Boston University on Sunday (game begins at 7 PM). They need to figure it out or the long start will only continue for this group.
