The 2014 NFL regular season is over. As the teams prepare for the playoffs and the upcoming Wild Card weekend, its time to take a look at what some former USF players did at the professional level this year. Here are the contributions each former player did for their respective team during the regular season.
Nate Allen – Philadelphia Eagles
Allen had 62 tackles, 1 sack, 1 FF, 3 FR, 4 interceptions and 5 passes defended as his Eagles went 10-6, missing out on the postseason. Allen was a starting safety once again for the Eagles and continues to be one of the most consistent former USF players in the NFL.
Sam Barrington – Green Bay Packers
Barrington had 52 tackles, 1 sack, and 1 pass defended this year for the Packers as he saw increased playing time on the field (inside linebacker position). His Packers are headed to the playoffs as the NFC North championships, giving him a great chance to get to the title game with Aaron Rodgers leading the way for his team.
Mike Jenkins – Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Jenkins had 1 tackle for the Bucs in the first game before his season was ended after a pectoral injury. He signed a one year deal with Tampa Bay, so now the former USF standout is back out there as a free agent after playing just 1 game for the Bucs.
DeDe Lattimore – Chicago Bears
Lattimore recorded 3 tackles in limited playing time for the Bears after being promoted from the practice squad back in October.
Aaron Lynch – San Francisco 49ers
Lynch recorded 23 tackles, 6 tackles and defended 4 passes this year from the linebacker position. He saw increased playing time throughout the year and put up some solid numbers as a rookie this year.
Terrell McClain – Dallas Cowboys
McClain recorded 19 tackles, 1 sack, and 1 FF in limited playing time with the Cowboys this year. He will be headed to the postseason with them after their strong season.
Jason Pierre-Paul – New York Giants
JPP had 77 tackles this year with 12.5 sacks, 3 FF, 1 FR, and defended 6 passes. After an injury plagued 2013 season, JPP returned to dominate pass rushing self, racking up the sack numbers as he continues to play well ever since leaving USF.
George Selvie – Dallas Cowboys
Selvie had 30 tackles, 3 sacks, 1 FF, 1 FR, and 1 pass defended. He, like McClain, will be headed to the postseason with Dallas. Its nice to see one of the best in USF history get to head into the playoffs with a strong team.
Kayvon Webster – Denver Broncos
Webster had 23 tackles and 2 pass defended this, dealing most of the season with various injuries. He is healthy now and headed to the playoffs once again.
Jacquian Williams – New York Giants
Williams recorded 78 tackles and 3 passes defended this year. Williams has quietly become a solid player for the Giants and has racked up the tackles over the past few years.
