Ouch. USF fell 68 to 63 to Georgia Southern, dropping their overall record to 5-4 on the year. The Bulls were down by 16 at one point in the 2nd half but rallied to make it a game. They came up short in their rally to avoid their 3rd straight loss on the year.
USF shot 41% for the game, but they were just 2 for 20 from 3-point range, an ugly 10% for the game (Eagle shot 38%). For a team that lives on long range shots, when they failed to fall, the Bulls struggled to find the answer. The Bulls had the rebounding edge at 37 to 34, but had more turnovers at 17 to 15. It was another game where they failed to take care of the ball.
Nehemias Morillo had 11 points and 7 rebounds. Chris Perry had a strong game with 16 points, 12 rebounds, and 4 blocks. Corey Allen Jr. had 8 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals (quiet night for him). Anthony Collins had 5 points and 4 assists (5 turnovers) as he continues to struggle to find his offense at this stage of the year. Bo Zeigler had 6 points and 7 rebounds before he fouled out. Dinero Mercurius had a career high with 13 points and 2 rebounds.
USF will host Seton Hall on Thursday night as they to snap this losing streak (game begins at 7 PM).
