The Bulls fell 55 to 52 today to St. Johns. The loss puts USF at 6-3 on the year after a hard fought game. USF held the edge after the first half, but the Red Storm took over late and took advantage of the bad shooting down the stretch from the Bulls.
USF shot just 33% overall in the game. They were also just 4 for 18 from 3-point range, just 22%. They held the rebounding margin at 49 to 43, but the 17 turnovers led to easy points for SJU throughout the game.
Laura Ferreira had 14 points and 4 rebounds. Courtney Williams had 15 points, 12 rebounds and 2 blocks. She went over 1000 points in her USF career, marking a great milestone in just her junior season. Alisia Jenkins was quiet with just 3 points, 14 rebounds, 3 blocks and 2 steals. Shalethia Stringfield had 8 points and 4 rebounds. Shavontae Naylor added 4 points and 3 rebounds as well.
The Bulls were not happy with their effort in this game and knew they let this one get away from them (check out @usfcollin and his tweets from the post game press conference). USF will have a week off to rest and regroup after this tough loss. They next host the College of Charleston on Sunday, December 14th. That game will begin at 2 PM.
