Basketball and Thanksgiving? Why not. The Bulls (3-1) are in the US Virgin Islands to take part in the Paradise Jam tournament. They will be facing off against Oklahoma (3-0) in the first game. The Sooners made the NCAA tournament last year and are off to a hot start this year, averaging 98 PPG (game begins at 8:15 PM).

The Sooners are led by junior forward Kaylon Williams (6’3″) who is averaging 16 PPG, 6 RPG, and has 2 blocks and 2 steals on the year. She’ll be a match-up issue in the paint for the Bulls. Senior guard Sharane Campbell (5’10”) is averaging 15 PPG, 7 RPG, and has 5 steals. Sophomore guard Peyton Little (5’11”) is averaging 13.7 PPG, 3 RPG and leads the Sooners with 14 assists and just 2 turnovers. Laura Ferreira and the other point guards for the Bulls will have to contain her and slow her down.

Sophomore guard Derica Wyatt (5’10”) is averaging 10 PPG off of the bench and will be a player to watch. Freshman center McKenna Treece (6’4″) is averaging 7.3 PPG, 4.3 RPG and leads the team with 3 blocks. USF is still trying to get center Katelyn Weber (toe) back and if she isn’t able to go in this game, the Bulls will be facing a height disadvantage in this game.

USF has a few players hurt right now. Katelyn Weber (toe), Laura Marcos Canedo (toe), Trimaine McCullough (has not dressed for last two games), and Ivana Vuletic (has not dressed for last two games) are all battling injuries (per the reports), leaving the Bulls with a short bench. It will be up to the big time players, Courtney Williams (17.5 PPG, 8 RPG) and Alisia Jenkins (11.5 PPG, 10.5 RPG), to step up and take over in what could be a very high scoring game for both sides. Let’s see how this one goes for the ladies. This is going to be a very tough game.
