Scouting Memphis: Offense

The Memphis offense is very solid, both running and throwing the ball. Paxton Lynch runs a effective solid spread offense, both running and throwing the ball well and all over the field. Can the USF defense figure out how to get a stop in this game? It will be very interesting to see how the Bulls do on the road. Let’s learn more about the Memphis offensive unit and what Paxton Lynch and company are all about. 

Offensive line

At left tackle is junior Taylor Fallin (6’6″ 330 lbs.). Fallin started 10 games last season and brings a lot of experience on the blind side. Behind him is freshman Patrick Winfield (6’5″ 275 lbs.). At left guard is junior Tyler Uselton (6’3″ 330 lbs.). Uselton is a junior college transfer that has taken over on the front line. Behind him is freshman Gabe Kuhn (6’4″ 280 lbs.). At center is Gabe Kuhn who has emerged as a starter at center. Behind him is junior Micah Simmons (6’3″ 285 lbs.). At right guard is sophomore Michael Standard (6’2″ 285 lbs.). Behind him is sophomore Sam Thomas (6’2″ 285 lbs.). At right tackle is senior Al Bond (6’4″ 300 lbs.). He has made 29 career starts to enter the 2014 year and is the most experienced lineman for the Tigers this year. Behind him is sophomore Tony Mays (6’4″ 275 lbs.).


At quarterback is sophomore Paxton Lynch (6’7″ 225 lbs.). He is 195 for 303 on the year for 2299 yards with 12 touchdowns and 6 interceptions on the year. He has 83 carries for 199 yards and 8 touchdowns on the year (big guy that can move well between the tackles). Behind him is junior college transfer Jason Stewart (6’3″ 210 lbs.) who is 3 for 4 on the year for a touchdown and freshman Brayden Scott (6’3″ 205 lbs.).

At running back is senior Brandon Hayes (5’8″ 198 lbs.). He leads the team with 136 carries for 651 yards and has 5 touchdowns on the year (9 catches for 66 yards and 2 touchdowns on the year). Behind him is sophomore Doroland Dorecus (5’10” 195 lbs.). He has 46 carries for 237 yards and 4 touchdowns on the year.


At wide receiver is senior Keiwone Malone (5’11 155 lbs.). He has 29 receptions for 379 yards on the year. Behind him is senior Joe Craig (5’11” 175 lbs.). He has 4 catches for 32 yards. At the 2nd wide receiver spot is sophomore Sam Craft (6′ 205 lbs.). He has 15 catches for 83 yards. He is also second on the team with 78 carries for 307 yards and 3 touchdowns on the year. Behind him is junior Mose Frazier (5’11” 184 lbs.). He has 35 catches for 377 yards and 2 touchdowns on the year. At the third spot is junior Tevin Jones (6’2″ 215 lbs.) who has 31 catches for 426 yards and 2 touchdowns on the year. Behind him is freshman Anthony Miller (5’11” 185 lbs.). At tight end is junior Alan Cross (6’1″ 245 lbs.). He has 27 catches for 277 yards and 3 scores on the year. Behind him is freshman Robby Young (6’4″ 240 lbs.) who has 1 catch for 29 yards and a touchdown.
