Another day, another nerve-wracking game for the Bulls as they held on to win 59 to 57 over UT Chattanooga (2-0). The win snaps a 40-game home winning streak for the Mocs and gives their second straight win over a top 50 RPI opponent to open the year.
USF shot 47% from the field overall and held the rebounding margin at 38 to 24. USF was up by 10 at the half, but the Mocs rallied and took the lead late in the game. USF was able to get points and slow down the Mocs in order to the big win.
Tamara Taylor had 7 points. Courtney Willimas had 15 points and 8 rebounds (quiet 2nd half for her). Laura Ferreira had 5 points and 3 rebounds. Ariadna Pujol had 5 points. Bre Brooks had 6 points and an assist. Alisia Jenkins had 10 points, 13 rebounds, 3 blocks, and 2 steals as she came up huge on both ends for the Bulls in this big win.
USF will hit the road again on Wednesday as they face off against Maryland another tough top ranked foe to start the year. The game will begin at 7 PM.
