USF WSoccer falls in PKs to Uconn

The Bulls battled the Uconn Huskies through 2 OTs but fell in penalty kicks 3 to 2, losing out on the AAC tournament title. Both sides played all out on defense during this game but the Bulls will look back at all of the chances they had in this one.

USF held the edge with 17 to 13 in total shots with so many looks on goal with corner kicks and great possessions, but they couldn’t get anything to go through. They had so many chances in this game and looking back at it, they will be upset knowing they should have put a few through. On defense, Katarina Elliott made 2 saves during the course of the game and in the OTs. She couldn’t come up with a late save in the penalty kicks, but she played her heart out, just like everyone on this team.

USF is 13-7-1 (6-3) to finish the regular season and have an RPI in the top 40. They will have to wait and see if they make the NCAA tournament now (selection show is tomorrow at 4:30 PM). They should get in but there is always that chance the selection committee is run by blind mice.

(Also a small note, to the Uconn player that flicked off the camera after winning, show some class next time. Disgraceful action and I hope something is said and done for that action. No class at all).
