USF WSoccer rallies to beat Cincinnati in first round of AAC tournament

What a win for the Bulls! USF managed to rally to beat Cincinnati, beating the Bearcats 3 to 2 at Corbett Field. USF, now 12-6-1, will head to the AAC semifinals on Friday (at Corbett) where they will face the winner of the ECU vs. Memphis game (game is currently going on today, November 2nd).

Cincinnati went up 1 to 3 just 3 minutes in the game. USF was able to tie it in the 13th minute on a goal from Leticia Skeete, sending the two sides into the half at that mark. In the 62nd minute, the Bearcats went back up 2 to 1. In the 70th minute, Sarah Miller tied it up after her shot went off of a defender and into the goal. USF went ahead for good in the 70th minute on a second goal from Leticia Skeete. USF held the edge during the game with 13 shot attempts to 8 and it showed in the 2nd half as they dictated the pace for the game.

Katarina Elliott had 3 saves during the game. She played well and the USF offense was able to get going late to help take the pressure off of her late in the game.

USF will play on Friday with a chance to advance to the AAC championship game. Stay tuned for more throughout the week.
