USF WSoccer hosts Cincinnati in the first round of the AAC tournament

The regular season is over and now the Bulls who finished the regular season at 11-6-1 (6-3) enter the AAC tournament as the 3rd seed. They will be facing off against Cincinnati, the 6th seed. The Bearcats went 10-7-2 (4-5-0) during the regular season. USF beat the Bearcats 4 to 2 back on October 24th at Corbett where they try to make it happen again (game begins at 1 PM).

Cincinnati is led by junior forward Danielle Rotheram who has 6 goals during the regular season (21 shot attempts) and added 5 assists. She scored one of the two goals against USF in the regular season. Sophomore midfielder Katy Couperus finished the regular season with 5 goals (49 shot attempts) and 5 assists. Senior defender Jae Atkinson has 2 goals (just 8 shot attempts) and had a team high 11 assists during the regular season. Senior midfielder Megan Cravenor had 3 goals (28 shot attempts) and an assist during the regular season. She scored the other goal against USF. USF keeper Katarina Elliott has posted 4 straight wins to end the regular season, thanks in part to her and the back line for the Bulls. I would expect them to put on a similar performance in this game.

In net for the Bearcats is redshirt sophomore Natalie Smith. Smith allowed 20 goals during the regular season while making just 25 saves. The Bulls scored 4 goals during the regular season match-up (Leticia Skeete, Sarah Miller, Kate Loye, and Ocean Parr). The USF offense has been humming the last two weeks and should be set for this game against a keeper that has struggled all regular season.
