Posted: November 2, 2014 in Uncategorized

The USF Bulls, 9-14 (3-8), are back home after a tough loss in their last game as they host ECU. ECU is 11-10 (3-8) on the season. ECU beat the Bulls back on October 10th so USF will try to return the favor while defending home court (game begins at noon).

ECU is led by sophomore outside hitter Sydney Darden who has 212 kills, 32 assists, 15 service aces, and 202 digs on the season. She had 12 kills and 11 digs in the last game against USF. Freshman outside hitter Ashton Mares has 177 kills, 23 service aces and 179 digs on the year. She had 12 kills and 12 digs in the win in the first game. Sophomore middle hitter Ashley McRae has 177 kills and 31 blocks on the year (had 11 kills in the first game). Senior setter Zarah Cecich has 94 kills, 670 assists, and 143 digs on the year. She 41 assists and 9 digs in the first game. Junior defensive specialist/libero Erika Figueroa has 43 assists and 229 digs on the year. She added 11 digs in the first meeting.

The Bulls battled to the end with UCF in the last loss but they came up short. Yet despite the loss, they came away with some momentum. Erin Fairs came alive against UCF and she will need another huge game along with the rest of the team. USF only has a handful of games late in the year and if they want to get back to .500 before the AAC tournament, they have to get it going. This is a game they need desperately.
