The Bulls, 8-12 (2-6), will try to end their 5-game losing streak on Parent’s night as they host AAC-foe Tulane. The Green Wave are 5-15 (3-5) on the season and sit in front of USF in the AAC standings (game begins at 7 PM).
Tulane is led by redshirt freshman right side hitter Sarah Ray (6’2″). She leads Tulane with 256 kills on the season and has added 183 digs and 51 blocks. Sophomore outside hitter Tea Juric (6’2″) has 193 kills, 175 digs, and has 30 blocks (can hit and defend the net well with Ray). Senior outside hitter/libero Grace Weaver (5’9″) has 21 assists, 13 service aces, and 198 blocks on the season (very versatile player). Sophomore setter Ally Frank (6’1″) has 13 kills, 471 assists, and 66 digs to round out their team.
USF has really struggled the past few games hitting for a high percentage. Erin Fairs, the best hitter on the team, was held to a negative hitting percentage in the last game and was a non-factor as the Bulls dropped their 5th straight. If the Bulls want to snap the losing streak and try to make some noise in the second half of the season, it has to start with this game. They are very talented and need to break out of this slide they are currently in. A home game could be the best medicine for them.
