Meet the Cincinnati coaching staff

Posted: October 20, 2014 in Football

Coach Taggart and his staff are hitting the road again and will be facing a veteran coaching staff in the process. Coach Tommy Tuberville and his staff have years of experience and will have their club ready for the Bulls. Let’s learn more about them.

Head coach Tommy Tuberville – Coach Tuberville is entering his second year with Cincinnati. Prior to coming to the Bearcats, Tuberville was the head coach at Texas Tech for three seasons, developing a very exciting spread offense with the Red Raiders. Before that, he was the head coach at Auburn (Tuberville was the coach when Matt Grothe and USF upset them back in 2007). Tuberville is know for his spread offenses and has a knack for recruiting and developing players. Tuberville is a veteran coach that will have this team ready for this one and prepared on a short week.

Offensive coordinator Eddie Gran – Gran joined Cincinnati after spending the past 3 years as the wide receivers coach at FSU (is also now the associate head coach for the Bearcats). Gran, a former UC assistant from 1992-93, spent the past 10 years both at Auburn (under Tuberville) and also at Tennessee. Gran has a great knowledge of spread offenses and comes from multiple systems that spread anyone out and attack both on the ground and through the air. He will have his offense ready for the USF defense and Coach Bresnahan.

Defensive coordinator Robert Prunty – Prunty is entering his 2nd season with the Bearcats. He spent the past 3 years at Texas Tech with Coach Tuberville, developing a team that is known for forcing turnovers and playing fast against spread offenses. The he is a solid defensive line coach that will have his unit ready this season, but will have to be at his best against the USF running attack that could find holes against his front 7.
