USF Volleyball takes on Uconn

The Bulls return home with a record of 7-7 (1-1) on the year. They will be hosting Uconn who enters the weekend at 9-4 (2-0). This is a huge test and opportunity for the Bulls to get above .500 in both win columns. The game begins at 7 PM tonight.

Uconn is led by junior middle blocker Immanuella Anagu (6’1″) who has 144 kills, 18 digs, and 56 blocks on the year. Senior outside-hitter Devon Maugle (6’1″) enters this game with 136 kills, 15 service aces, and 144 digs on the year. Senior libero Brianna Datti (5’3″) has 60 assists and 240 digs on the year. Sophomore setter Rebecca Rivera (5’7″) has 311 assists and 90 digs on the year overall to round out their team. They a very balanced front line and will be tough to block at the net in this match.

For the Bulls, this is a huge test and a huge opportunity for the ladies to get back over .500 on the year in both the overall win column and in the conference. They beat Tulsa but fell to SMU in just 3 sets last week. They are a battled test group that has faced some of the best teams in the country and now finally get to head home to face one of the better teams in the AAC. If this USF team wants to make it to the post-season they have to take advantages like this, a game against a top foe at home. Let’s home they come out ready and take care of business.
