Per Reports: USF football to add Stanford transfer

Posted: October 3, 2014 in Uncategorized

Per Rodney Page (Tampa Bay Times) and other media sources – Reports are coming in that former St. Pete standout Reilly Gibbons will be transferring from Stanford and attending USF starting in January.

Gibbons, a 4-star offensive linemen from the 2014 class, will attend USF (per the reports) in January. Gibbons was one of the top talents in the Bay area in the 2014 recruiting class. The 6’6″ 278 lbs. (weight coming out of high school) linemen had a ton of offers before selecting Stanford, a program that has a great reputation in evaluating offensive linemen and their talent.  Gibbons will be a huge addition to the offensive line. The Bulls graduate Darrell Williams at the end of the year and are continuing to recruit and develop the big offensive line that Coach Taggart wants up front. I asked Rodney Page if Gibbons would have to sit out a year but it that hasn’t been determined yet.

As Joey Knight reported, there should be a formal announcement later today from USF. I will update this story if there is any more information to come.

UPDATE: USF has made it official on Gibbons coming to USF.
