USF MSoccer takes on Uconn

Posted: September 27, 2014 in Soccer

The Bulls are 3-3 on the year and will be hitting the road to start the AAC portion of their schedule. They will be taking on the Uconn Huskies who are just 2-4-1 on the year so far (game begins at 7 PM). It’s their AAC opener as well.

The Huskies are led by sophomore forward Cyle Larin who leads them with 4 goals on 33 shots and has added 2 assists as well. Sophomore forward Ethan Vanaeore-Decker has 2 goals on 16 shots and has added an assist. Senior midfielder has 2 goals on just 5 shots and junior forward Nicholas Zuniga has 1 goal and 2 assist to round out their offensive attack. Spasoje Stefanovic will have to slow down Larin and will need his back line to be at their best in this road game.

In net for Uconn is junior Jacob Wagmeiester who has allowed 13 goals on the year (allowing 1.79 goals per game) and has made 34 saves. Wagmeister has given up a lot of goals this year so far and has faced a lot of shots on goal. For the USF offensive attack, they should be able to get their shots and need to take advantage of it. Lucas Baldin, Edwin Moalosi and company should find some openings in this game. They just have to make them count in what should be a tough battle between the two teams.
