USF WSoccer shuts Texas out in 2 to 0 win

The Bulls got a huge win this afternoon with a 2 to 0 win over Texas. With the win, the Bulls improve their overall record to 4-3-1 as they continue to play well.

The Bulls struck first in the 31st minute on a goal from Olivia Chance, making it 1 to 0 (her second of the year). In the second half, Demi Stokes made it 2 to 0 on a penalty kick in the 72nd minute, putting the game away for good. USF dominated shots, 21 to 14, throughout the game and put a lot of pressure on the Texas defense throughout the second half of the game, making life easier for Katarina Elliott.

Elliott, getting the start over Thordis Aikman, made 4 saves in the game and was not challenged that much later in the second half. Who is the USF keeper going forward? It’s up in the air as both of them continue to get starts and playing time.

USF will hit the road on Thursday as they travel to take on Boston College (game starts at 7 PM) in a big non-conference match-up. Hopefully the Bulls can get it done on the road and get another big resume booster.
