USF Volleyball take both games on Saturday

The Bulls ended the Active Ankle Tournament Challenge on a high note, winning two games on Saturday over Winthrop and Auburn to wrap up the weekend. With the two wins, the Bulls return home with a 4-5 record.

USF won a big game, beating Winthrop in 4 sets to start they day, running their record to 3-5. Erin Fairs had 13 kills and 12 digs and Dakota Hampton had 15 kills and 7 digs. Alexus Heidelberg had 8 kills and 2 digs. Bree Scarbrough had 9 kills and 7 blocks in a huge game from her. Natalia Soares had 26 assists and 5 digs while Amy Van Sant had 14 digs and 6 assists. The big surprise in this game was Olga Morekhodova who entered the game and added 23 assists and 11 digs to help cap the win for the Bulls.

In the second game, the Bulls won in 5 sets over Auburn. Erin Fairs went off for 22 kills and 16 digs. Dakota Hampton had 9 kills and 19 digs. Alexus Hiedelberg had 13 kills and 2 digs. Natalia Soares had 41 assists and 6 digs. Amy Van Sant had 5 assists and 19 digs to round out the strong win. The Bulls are almost at .500 which is a great sign moving forward with AAC play looming.

The Bulls will return home but will hit the road again next weekend as they head to Pittsburgh to take on Pitt in the opening game of the Pitt Panther Invitational. The Bulls and Panthers will battle it out on Friday starting at 7 PM.
