From last night: USF WSoccer earns draw with Navy

Posted: August 30, 2014 in Soccer

The Bulls battled Navy to a 1 to 1 tie after the second overtime, pushing their record to 0-2-1. The Bulls will get a chance to get that first win tomorrow when they host FGCU at Corbett at 6 PM.

Navy scored late in the second half, with just about 10 minutes left on the game. Katarina Elliott, getting the start, had made 3 saves during the game and had been huge in the net in her first start. The Bulls would tie the game with just under 3 minutes left in regulation on a penalty kick from Demi Stokes. USF had the edge the entire game on shots, but couldn’t find a way to get through until late in the game.

The Bulls are still sorting things out on the offensive side of the ball but on defense, they are playing well. It appears that Elliott is the goal keeper moving forward and after her performances the past two games, things are looking good on that side of the ball.
