USF WSoccer falls 2 to 0 to UF

Posted: August 24, 2014 in Soccer

The Bulls fell 2 to 0 to the Gators, dropping their record to 0-2-0 to start the season. The first half was quiet for both sides with UF leading the charge with 5 shots compared to no looks for the Bulls. The second half had a long delay, 2 and a half hours with the lightning in the area. After the delay, the Gators struck and added two goals, sending the Bulls back to Tampa in defeat.

The USF offense struggled the entire game. They managed just 3 shots the entire game compared to 12 total shots from UF. The Gators dictated the pace of the game and did not allow the Bulls to get going. Thordis Aikman started the game in net but was removed after 11 minutes in place of Katarina Elliott. Elliott made 4 saves, but did allow the two goals late in the game.

This was another tough loss for the Bulls who are still looking for their first goal of the 2014 season. They will try to get it down when they return home to face Navy on Friday at 7:30 PM at Corbett.
