Robbins, a member of the 2013 recruiting class, emerged late during the season and showcased his unique skills set in the secondary. With his size and a year of experience, he should be ready for a big 2014 season.

#6 Lamar Robbins – 6’2″ 194 lbs. – Sophomore – Defensive back – Miami, FL (Southridge HS)

2013 season: Rated a 4-star recruit coming into last season, Robbins earned more playing time later in the year (some due to injury and suspensions in the secondary). He finished the year with 9 tackles, 1 interception, a pass break-up and 1 fumble recovery.

2014 Bull Rush Prediction: Robbins is a unique talent. He has tremendous height for a defensive back (which is regular with a safety) but has the ball skills of a cornerback. He has the speed to run with wide receivers but then has the size to cover and tackle bigger tight ends or running backs in the middle of the field. It’s hard to predict where Robbins will line up regularly on the field, whether safety or corner (the nickel? Doubtful but never know), but it could be more times at corner to start the season. Wherever he lines up, expect to see a lot more from Robbins in 2014 and for bigger production. I expect a lot more game time for Robbins and big numbers as the result of the increased playing time.
