Two Bulls signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Football is in the air! As the Bulls are preparing for their season, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are hard at work preparing for their season. They are going through their training camp at One Buc Place right now and in the past two days, two former Bulls have been added to their roster.

Yesterday, safety Mark Joyce was signed by the Bucs. Tampa Bay has had several injuries in their secondary, including former Bulls Mike Jenkins, so the Bucs needed to bring in healthy players. Joyce, the 6’1 200 lb. safety out of Deland, FL, had 181 tackles, 5 TFL, 3 INTs, and 6 PBU during his career with the Bulls. He was dismissed at the end of the year by Coach Taggart before the year was over. Joyce was part of the Bucs’ rookie camp, but was not signed. As Greg Auman wrote the other day, Joyce was about to start a new career but he got the call and suited up that very day.

Today, another Bull was added to the Bucs roster. Defensive end Ryne Giddins, the 6’3″ 253 lb. end out of Seffner, FL, was added and could (like Joyce) play in their game on Friday. Giddins, a 4-year starter and one of the best people I’ve ever met, finished his career with 118 tackles, 32 TFL, 19.5 sacks, 1 INT, 4 FF, and 1 FR. Giddins will get a chance to play with some players injured for the Bucs and others that will not suit up for the first pre-season game.

Will either make the roster? Its doubtful and will be an uphill battle the entire way. But at least for the moment, they are still playing and still suiting up at Raymond James Stadium with the Bucs.
