Mattias Ciabatti took over as the full time punter last season and put together a solid season. He returns in 2014 as one of the returning specialist nearly guaranteed a starting job before the fall camp even begins.

#49 Mattias Ciabatti – 6′ 188 lbs. – Junior – Punter – Tampa, FL (Hillsborough HS)

2013: Mattias won the starting job as the punter at the start of last year. He had 73 punts, averaging 40.2 yards per kick, including a long of 68 yards. 20 punts landed inside the opponents 20-yard line, 20 were caught for a fair catch, and 7 were for a touchback. 14 punts were 50 yards or over.

2014 Bull Rush Prediction: Mattias had an overall solid season last year in his first full year as the starter. While he had some punts he wanted to forget (FSU game come to mind?) he did average a little over 40 yards, a number that will only improve with experience and more time in the weight room. While there will be competition from others like Marvin Kloss and Emilio Nadelman, chances are Ciabatti returns as the starter and should have  a very solid season for the Bulls (should also return as the holder). Coach Taggart has already said Ciabatti is the only person that has a starting job entering the fall, I definitely believe that.
