Kareem Canty headed back to Auburn

Posted: June 4, 2014 in Basketball

It appears Kareem Canty won’t be calling Tampa home.

Per report from AL.com– After committing to Auburn, de-committing, and then committing to USF, it appears that redshirt freshman point guard Kareem Canty (transfer from Marshall) has decided to re-commit to Auburn. The report from AL.com was also confirmed by Jeff Goodman of ESPN.

This is an interesting turn of events this is for USF and Coach Antigua. Canty, who has to sit out a year due to NCAA transfer rules, would have given the Bulls an explosive backcourt in 2015 with fellow transfer Roddy Peters. USF had a press release when Canty confirmed he was transferring to USF, so this is a new strange twist.  If confirmed the Bulls will have an extra scholarship available after which they could use on Oklahoma State forward Kamari Murphy who visited the Bulls last week. We will have to see how it all plays out.
