Per Corey Bender ( and Joey Knight (Tampa Bay Times) – Junior cornerback Kenneth Durden is no longer part of the program, per reports.

The 6′ 173 lb. junior corner out of Valdosta, GA (Lowndes HS) had been arrested back on January 20th for one count of cannabis possession, a 3rd degree felony. Durden was part of the active roster during the spring practices but was held out of all activities.

Durden started 11 out of the 12 games last season recording 32 tackles, 1 interception, 1 PBU, 1 FF, and 1 FR in his first full year as a starting cornerback.

With his departure, it opens the door for the several young corners on the roster to push for a starting position. Johnny Ward and others will get their chance once the fall camp begins in August.

Tashon Whitehurst saw his playing time diminish last season as he switched sides from the WILL to the SAM linebacker position. (more…)

TBT: Ben Williams

Posted: June 26, 2014 in Football, Fun

At 5’7″ Ben Williams was one of the shortest guys on the field from 2005 to 2008, but with over 1000 career yards rushing, 15 touchdowns, and a lasting reputation as tough pass blocker, Williams was a fun player to watch. I remember walking between Cooper Hall and the College of Education one afternoon and walked right past Williams. I couldn’t get over how short he was (they list him at 5’7″ but that couldn’t be true) but his arms where bigger than my torso! I miss him always emerging from the pile and getting the tough touchdowns and cracking a more blitz linebacker that thought they could get past him. Good times.

Zack Bullock returns for his junior season looking to move his way up the depth chart this fall. (more…)

Elkino Watson had a strong 2013 season and could be used in various ways in 2014. (more…)

Enjoy the laugh, guys!

It’s the off-season so its time to have a little fun and a few laughs. What you will see below after the jump was thrown together by my good friend Jonathan. It’s a mixture of Skip Holtz, memes, gifs, Bar Rescue quotes (if you don’t know who John Taffer is, you might not get it all) and reaction to last season. Let me be clear, he is a USF alum, goes to more than enough games and has stormed the field during the Matt Grothe days, he truly does love USF. He put this together for a good laugh, so don’t take it too serious folks, just have a good laugh and enjoy.  (more…)
