Thank you, thank you for everything.

The Bulls fell 2 to 1 to FSU today, ending their incredible season at 43-17. The senior class, including Sara Nevins, Kourtney Salvarola, Ashli Goff, Courtney Goff, Kaitlyn Santo, and Dani Wayt, played their final game in green and gold as well. As a fan and as an alum, not enough thanks can be given to this group and the entire team as well for another incredible season.

USF struck first in the first inning after Stephanie Medina hit an RBI single to bring home Ashli Goff. FSU scored 2 runs in the bottom of the inning and the Bulls were able to avoid more damage after the Noles left the bases loaded. In the third, USF had a chance to score after Kristen Wyckoff led the inning off with a single and a steal, but after a base it, she was thrown out at the plate (super close play). In the 6th, USF got two runners on, but they weren’t able to capitalize on the situation. USF had one more chance in the 7th after Courtney Goff got on base with a single and Kristen Wyckoff reached on an error, but USF couldn’t get the late clutch hit to push the regional bracket to a final game.

Sara Nevins pitched her heart out again in her final USF game. Over the entire series, Nevin threw over 400 total pitches and kept the Bulls in every game, just like she has done her entire career. She pitched all 6 innings, allowing 3 hits, 2 runs, 3 walks, and struck out 6 batters.

I can’t say thank you enough to this amazing senior class, to the entire team, and to Coach Eriksen and his entire staff. This season has been so much fun to watch and follow and the last 4 years have been some of the best years for any USF program. Again, thank you ladies, thank you for all of the great memories. I can’t for the next season.
