The Rush through the roster series is now in full swing and we start with redshirt freshman defensive end Mike Love who should have plenty of chances of seeing playing time in 2014.

#98 Mike Love – 6’2″ 242 lbs. – Defensive end – Clearwater, FL (Countryside HS)

2013: Love redshirted in his first year at USF. He was a 3-year starter at Countryside HS and was a 2-time All State Selection, recording 30.5 sacks during his prep career.

2014 Bull Rush Prediction: The Bulls saw 4 defensive ends leave at the end of the 2013 season, all of them major contributors at the end position. With those departures, the Bulls are thin at defensive end position and will be looking for new stars to take over the open roster spots. This is a perfect chance for Love. Love has the speed, the added weight after a redshirt season, and a lack of experienced depth ahead of him means his chances of playing in 2014 are very high. He will have to earn the spot in the fall, but the cards are all aligned for him to make an impact in 2014.
