The USF Bulls completed the sweep of Houston today, winning 5 to 2. Sara Nevins went the distance working the entire game, allowing 8 hits, 2 runs, 2 walks, and struck out 8 batters while recording her 93rd win of her historic career. The win puts USF to 33-13 (7-5) on the season and adds another big win to their resume late in the year.

The Bulls were down 1 to 0 after the first inning, but got back in the 3rd after Juli Weber singled and Ashli Goff followed her with her own base hit. Kourtney Salvarola bunted them over and a single from Lee Ann Spivey made it 2 to 1. In the 4th, Tacoia Williams singled, followed by Weber which brought home Williams to make it 3 to 1. Houston added a run to make it 3 to 2 in the bottom of the 4th, but USF got the insurance runs they needed in the 7th. Ashli Goff singled followed by a base hit from Salvarola. Stephanie Medina then hit a double bringing home Goff, making it 4 to 2. Karla Cladio then put down a bunt, bringing home Salvarola to make it 5 to 2 and sealing the win for the Bulls.

USF will head to Gainesville to take on the Gators on Wednesday night at 6 PM.
