From GoUSFBulls.com – USF volleyball and women’s basketball both added two players to their respective programs as both Coach Draper and Coach Fernandez continue to bolster their rosters for the 2014-15 seasons.

Coach Draper welcomed two players to the roster, outside hitter Priscilla Ehieze and setter Olga Morekhodova. Both players join the loaded recruiting class that includes Joli Holland, Alex Mendoza, Brittany Kelly, Adyson Goodnight, and Payton Brown.

Morekhodova is a top JUCO star from Indian River State College where she earned NJCAA Honorable mention last season. The 5’9″ setter has a lot of speed and brings a lot of skill to the setter spot that has has Wylie Devlin and Natalia Soares on the current roster. Adding another skilled player will only help push everyone to get better and make the position even better. Ehieze is a talented outside hitter that has great physical tools (can squat 300 lbs. and has a vertical of 10’2″ on the jump) and will be a huge factor on the right side of the net. In her final year in high school she had 201 kills and 112 blocks, resembling Erin Fairs (both from Houston) and showing what she can bring to the court. Both players are huge additions to Coach Draper’s team that went 17-15 last season and returns nearly everyone from last year’s squad. The Bulls are primed for a run at the AAC title in 2014.

On the court, Coach Fernandez added two more players to his roster for 2014, joining the two already signed Laura Ferreira (Portugal) and Maria Jesperson (Denmark). Bre Brooks, rated the third best JUCO player, joins the Bulls after averaging 18.6 PPG and 7 APG for Weatherford College last season. Brooks is rated the top JUCO point guard and 3rd best JUCO player. Brooks is a combo point guard, possessing the ability to distribute the ball but also get her own shots. Coach Fernandez also added another Spanish star, point guard Laia Flores (former teammate of Ariadna Pujol) to the roster as well. Flores is a speedy, pure point guard that has some long range ability as well. The Bulls have a revolving door at point guard last season and needed to add depth to the position and with Flores and Brooks inked, the roster just got stronger.

Both programs just got a lot stronger for 2014 and I can’t wait to see them both in action in just a few months.
