Rush through the roster: #4 Chris Bivins Jr.

Posted: August 15, 2013 in Football

Chris Bivins Jr. returns this fall after recovering from a torn ACL suffered late last year.

Chris Bivins Jr. – Sophomore – 5’11” 175 lbs. – Gainesville, FL (Gainesville HS) – Defensive back

2012: The Bulls were looking for a spark in the secondary and burned Bivins’s redshirt, playing him sparingly in 4 games (recorded one tackle).  He tore his ACL, the same ACL he tore in high school during a non-contact drill and missed the rest of the year.

2013 Bull Rush Projection: Bivins was extremely limited in the spring as he continued to recover his knee.  Now that fall is here, he is a full go in practices and will be a factor for a starting corner job.  Bivins is a very quick, athletic cornerback that has great speed to keep up with any wide receiver.  At this stage he is the thick of a wide open race for the two starting corner jobs the Bulls have open right now.  I think if he can stay healthy and doesn’t have any other set backs, he should be starting or at least rotate in for a large majority of snaps.
