Rush through the roster: #13 Bobby Eveld

Posted: August 12, 2013 in Football

Bobby Eveld enters his final season as a Bull, trying to win the starting job.

Bobby Eveld – Redshirt Senior – 6’5″ 217 lbs. – Tampa, FL (Jesuit HS) – Quarterback

2012: Last season was not a good one for the brief period of time Eveld saw.  It was expected that Eveld would take a redshirt, allowing him to come in this season after Daniels graduated.  Daniels was injured in the Miami game and Holtz and crew decided to burn the redshirt with only a few games to go and sent him on the field.  After just 8 passes, Eveld was sacked and suffered a season ending shoulder injury, marking another awful moment of the 2012 season.

2013 Bull Rush Projection: The fall is going to be an interesting one for Eveld and the rest of the quarterbacks on the USF roster.  Eveld took most of the snaps with the first team offense during the spring, but didn’t separate himself from anyone to prove he was the starter.  This fall is wide open and Eveld will have 3 others to beat out if he wants to win the job.  I honestly think Steven Bench wins the job out, but Eveld could if he proves himself.
