Marcus Shaw is the most experienced running back on the USF roster entering the fall, but there are still questions if he can be the fulltime starter.

Marcus Shaw – Senior – 5’9″ 178 lbs. – Arcadia, FL (De Soto HS) – Running back

2012: Shaw, aka “squirrel”, made 3 starts (10 games), rushing 51 times for 248 yards.  He caught 8 passes for 34 yards and returned 10 kick-offs for 245 yards (24.5 per return).  He walked off the field in the last home game and required some players to go get him before the game ended, showing his frustration at the ends of the year.

2013 Bull Rush Projection: Shaw has a lot of speed, quick feet, and is able to get up field quickly.  However, he is still small and may not be able to hold up to the workload that the power run offense the Bulls will be running this year.  Shaw will be a solid contributor this year, but don’t expect him to break 1000 yards for the running game and will most likely be splitting carries all year.  Look for him to get the first few carries in every game then rotate out with Pierre and the freshmen backs.
