Unit Analysis: Tight ends

The tight end position, which has been rarely featured throughout the history of USF football, is about to get a lot more attention under Coach Taggart.  With a more pro-style system, mixing in a lot of Stanford and San Francisco 49er’s style playcalling, the tight ends on the roster could have huge seasons.  (more…)

Unit Analysis: Offensive line

Austin Reiter returns to anchor the offensive line in 2013.

The offensive line was solid last season. for the Bulls, but still has a lot of room to grow in 2013.  The unit averaged 152 yards a game  in rushing, but allowed the USF quarterbacks to get sacked a total of 25 times.  The unit had a first year center and inconsistent offensive schemes, making life a little difficult for them to come together as a group.  Entering 2013, the unit is slowly coming along under the new offensive system and several new names are pushing for playing time.  (more…)

Unit Analysis: Secondary

Where do we start?  The USF secondary was a huge weakness last season, recording just one interception among all the defensive backs.  On top of that, the two starting corners, George Baker and Kayvon Webster, are now both in the NFL.  This entire unit has to get better if the Bulls want to close out games.  (more…)
